How Do You Apply Using NNAS’s Expedited Service?
How much does the Expedited Service cost?
NNAS is pleased to offer a reduced fee for the Expedited Service of $750 CDN for a single RN and LPN application. You can select any nursing regulatory body participating in the Expedited Service at no additional cost.
Where do I get a Course-by-Course Assessment Report?
The Expedited Service requires applicants to submit a Course-by-Course Assessment Report (may also be referred to as a Postsecondary Comprehensive Assessment Report or Specialized Assessment Report) from an organization approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Once you have completed your Course-by-Course Assessment Report you will need to request it be sent directly to NNAS from the relevant Third Party either by mail or digitally. Instructions on how to request the Course-by-Course Assessment Report are found in the Applicant Portal.
NNAS applicants can choose to have a Course-by-Course Assessment Report completed from one of the following IRCC-approved organizations:
- Comparative Education Service (CES)
- International Credential Assessment Service (ICAS)
- International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES)
- World Education Services (WES)
Applicants are responsible for the cost of the Course-by-Course Assessment Report. Please visit these organizations’ websites for more information.
I am an existing NNAS applicant and have already requested and/or submitted my educational documentation be sent to NNAS. Do I still need to submit a Course-by-Course Assessment Report?
No. Existing NNAS applicants who have already requested educational documentation be sent to NNAS from Third Parties do not have to submit a a Course-by-Course Assessment Report. Your educational documentation will be reviewed and verified by NNAS once received from your educational institutions.
How is my curriculum assessed under the Expedited Service?
As part of our efforts to streamline the application process, NNAS has introduced a new way to review international nursing education. This new way saves applicants both time and money while still providing high quality information. Rather than requiring the curriculum be submitted and reviewed for each individual applicant, NNAS now reviews international curriculums in depth at a country level. The educational reviews are completed by nursing experts who are familiar with Canadian Entry to Practice Competencies. The experts are also familiar with internationally educated nurses and the value they bring to Canadian nursing. The regulators who joined NNAS’ Expedited Service understand the new educational review process and accept it. They use the country level curriculum reviews, along with information in the NNAS advisory reports, to inform their licensing decisions.
Can I port my Expedited Advisory Report to another regulatory body?
No. The Expedited Service Advisory Report cannot be ported to another regulatory body.
